Jenx Penguin Stander

  • Standing
  • Description

Standing systems can be used for children who are unable to stand independently, to keep their body in good alignment and posture.

The Jenx Penguin Stander is a secure upright stander on locking castor base that offers comfortable and secure hip and chest support.

Includes detachable tray that can be fitted with bowl or infill to allow for play and activity whilst child is standing.

Suits Ages 18months to 3.5 years old

    Inclusion Possibilities

    • Increase opportunities to participate independently with peers in experiences where children are standing
    • Can be used for individual and/or group experiences
    • Supports the child’s body allowing the upper limbs to be free for use
    • Allows the child to see and access the environment at the same height as their peers when standing

    Things to consider

    • Use of standing frames should only occur for periods of time where the child’s peers are also standing
    • Educators should consult with therapists and parents about appropriate timeframes for use
    • Educators need to plan how standing frames will be used within the care environment to maximise children’s participation in the program and interaction with peers
