Dynamic Standing Frame (Medium)

  • Standing
  • Description

Standing frames can be used for children who are unable to stand independently, to keep their body in good alignment and posture.

The Dynamic Standing Frames are minimal support devices, designed to enable limited movement in all directions to enhance standing and balance.

They feature an adjustable heel strap, vertical adjustable knee strap, variable supportive pads providing total pelvic support or optional posterior buttock adjustment and a non-slip rubber mat.

    Inclusion Possibilities

    • Increase opportunities to participate independently with peers in experiences where children are standing
    • Can be used for individual and/or group experiences
    • Supports the child’s body allowing the upper limbs to be free for use
    • Enables the child to experience the environment at the same level as their peers

    Things to consider

    • Use of standing frames should only occur for periods of time where the child’s peers are also standing
    • Educators should consult with therapists and parents about appropriate timeframes for use
    • Educators need to plan how standing frames will be used within the care environment to maximise children’s participation in the program and interaction with peers
